Programme Summary
Temporary power, access lifts, and site support for museum shell, dome, and fit-out packages at Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island.
Mobilisation Narrative
Louvre Abu Dhabi’s dome, galleries, and marine-edge precinct on Saadiyat Island demand hire plant that can support complex structural and museum fit-out works without damaging finishes or blocking cultural-district logistics. FM Rental supplied diesel generators with distribution boards and cabling for temporary construction power, boom and scissor lifts for façade, plant-room, and high-level access under and around the dome envelope, and lighting for overnight works when daytime visitor and commissioning windows constrained programme.
Machine placement and cable routes were agreed with the package electrical lead so emergency egress, plaza interfaces, and marine edges stayed clear as commissioning approached. Fuel containment and spill response followed Saadiyat and contractor HSE packs; field engineers attended first energisation of temporary boards serving successive gallery and back-of-house zones.
When museum fit-out packages overlapped across pavilions, hire amendments kept inducted serial numbers on site so access and power records stayed continuous for the main contractor’s QA file. Off-hire tracked each zone handover so plant cleared before public opening.
